Overview

Passport Reader CLC 231 is a desktop personal identification document reader device representing the latest high technology.

Passport Reader CLC 231 can be connected to ARH's specially developed FXPU4 2000 industrial computer or any other standard PC with free PCI slot. Passport Reader CLC 231 data input device can be integrated into computer networks.

The device takes high resolution (3Mpixels) pictures of different types of personal documents (passport, identity card, etc.) using three important illuminations: White light, Infra-red and UVA.

Passport Reader CLC 231 makes data entry, performs authenticity verification of the documents and transfers the data as an information package to the data processing information system in less than 3 seconds.

Passport Reader CLC 231 is provided with a Application Programming Interface (API) and a communication protocol using standard TCP/IP.

Passport Reader CLC 231 is very easy to operate: only minimal training is needed for the user.

· Open the top of the device and place the document to be read on the window of it.
· Place back the top and push the button at the front when it is green. (If the button is red the top is   open.)
· After only 3 seconds when the image is captured and processed, the device gives a "ready" sound signal.
· Finally, open the top and remove the document.

Passport Reader CLC 231 automatically reads the data from the document:
· it reads OCR lines (characters for optical recognition), barcodes and printed characters (figures, letters),
· it transforms these data into computer understandable format (ASCII).

Passport Reader CLC 231 is a perfect tool for document verification. It verifies the documents semi-automatically:
· the device checks for specific hidden security items by default, and
· the user can check the authenticity of security elements by comparing the differently lit images.
Due to its exceptionally high resolution, even the smallest details of the security marks can be detected.
